New Paper: Men’s issues

New Paper: Men’s issues

Mens Health Australia has prepared a briefing paper to the newly appointed Australian Sex Discrimination Commissioner and Commissioner Responsible for Age Discrimination, Ms Elizabeth Broderick, who has spent the last few months undertaking a National Listening Tour to ascertain the views of Australians on three key themes:

* Economic independence for women,
* Work and family balance across the life cycle, and
* Freedom from discrimination, harassment and violence.

The aim of the Listening Tour is to hear what Australians have to say about these themes and also have a conversation about how we can work together to influence change.

The Commissioner will be using this information to inform her five year agenda for her term as Sex Discrimination Commissioner.

The paper by Mens Health Australia is chock full of stats about mens and boys health and needs- covering topics such as prison rape, lack of domestic violence services for men and discrimination against men.
