We are proud to help LGBTIQ clients both when they want to become parents, but also if their relationships end. We believe that everyone is entitled to equal treatment under the law, and that everyone is entitled to be treated with dignity under the law. To this end, both Stephen Page have made submissions to various government inquiries to ensure that the law treats LGBTIQ people equally.

Our partner Stephen Page is out and proud. Stephen has previously been named LGBTIQ Activist of the Year, and on behalf of a previous firm accepted a Queensland Law Society Equity and Diversity Award.

Founder Of The LGBT Family Law Institute

Stephen is the founder of the LGBT Family Law Institute Australia- which brings together family lawyers from across Australia who act for and advocate for LGBTIQ people. He has received the Rainbow Keys Award from the LGBTI Legal Service for 5 years volunteer service there. He is a founding member of the Asia-Pacific Rainbow Families Forum. Stephen is a member of the LGBT Committee of the International Academy of Family Lawyers.

Stephen’s first LGBTIQ client was in 1992. Since then he has continually acted for LGBTIQ clients. He wrote a legal column for Qnews for over 15 years.

Focus On Equality

In 2012- 2013, Stephen was the convenor for Queenslanders for Equality – which successfully opposed moves to strip lesbian mums as being recognised as mums, and another proposal to wind back the clock to jail gays, lesbian and singles who wanted to be parents through surrogacy.

Stephen has been the honorary solicitor for the Brisbane Gay and Lesbian Business Network and the Gay and Lesbian Welfare Association.

The Page Provan Difference

Page Provan are privileged and honoured to help parents do the best they can by their children – whether it’s in their quest to become parents, or in separation issues such as dealing with their former partner as to where their children live and when children spend time with each of their parents.
