Del Martin

I previously blogged about how famous lesbian activists Del Martin and her partner of 55 years Phyllis Lyon were amongst the first to get married following the legalisation of marriage in California following the California Supreme Court decision. This wasn’t the first time, though- they got married in the first spurt in San Francisco, but that batch of weddings was outlawed.

Well now I am sad to say that Del Martin, 87, has died, last Wednesday in San Francisco. She will be sorely missed for the inspiration, courage, but above all humanity that she and Phyllis have shown over the years.

The End of International Surrogacy in Kenya? What Australians Need to Know

Surrogacy in Kenya has long sat in an uneasy space. It has been available, it has been used by some foreign intended parents, and yet it has operated in a legal environment that is largely unregulated. For Australians, that combination should always have rung alarm bells. The numbers alone tell part of the story. Very… Read More »The End of International Surrogacy in Kenya?
