Surrogacy in Ukraine

I have received this email from Mr Sam Everingham from Growing Families concerning the evacuation of surrogates and newborns from Ukraine:

Hi Stephen

Because we are the only non-profit with connections to all the agencies and hospitals, we are evacuating newborns, surrogates and their children for parents of all nationalities

The nationalities we are dealing with currently are

    • Australia
    • Austria
    • Bulgaria
    • Canada
    • Denmark
    • France
    • Germany
    • Philippines
    • Portugal
    • Romania
    • UK
    • USA

We have assisted with evac of 6 newborns and 12 surrogates so far.

The AU & UK govt have confirmed that Citizenship By Descent procedures will stay the same if the child is born outside Ukraine. Just need a positive DNA match, which is taking time, as our partners are having to ship test kits to Warsaw, Moldova etc. Families will need to wait with their children in these countries until Citizenship & passports issued.

Birth registries in Lviv and Odesa remain open, but we can get infants over borders without birth certificates if necessary, as many births are still occurring in Kyiv and elsewhere.

Yours sincerely
Sam Everingham

ACT Government Surrogacy Bill

The ACT Government has today introduced a bill to amend the ACT’s surrogacy laws. The proposed changes are more incremental than fundamental. They include allowing a single person to undertake surrogacy, for the surrogate to be single if needed, a requirement for legal advice and counselling beforehand, a written agreement being required, that traditional surrogacy is… Read More »ACT Government Surrogacy Bill

Planning to resolve: ADR in ART

ADR can help resolve disputes in ART cases. ADR is not limited to mediation and arbitration. Other types of informal dispute resolution can resolve disputes. When assisted reproductive treatment cases go off the rails, they can have the next level of bitterness and volatility. There can be a keen sense of betrayal when things don’t… Read More »Planning to resolve: ADR in ART
