Surrogacy webinar for Australian intended parents thinking of going to Canada

The CEO of Canadian Fertility Consultants, Leia Swanberg, and I will be speaking in a webinar on 22 July for Australians contemplating surrogacy in Canada.

Leia Swanberg is not only the CEO, but also the founder of what is Canada’s largest surrogacy agency. She has helped intended parents from across Canada and from across the world, including many from Australia, to become parents through surrogacy.

I have helped Australians become parents through surrogacy in Canada. My clients have undertaken surrogacy in Ontario, British Columbia, Alberta, Newfoundland and New Brunswick. My clients have been married couples, de facto couples, gay couples, and singles.

Australians have been undertaking surrogacy in Canada only in the last few years, and I have helped pioneer access by Australians to surrogacy in Canada.

I have advised clients in every State and Territory of Australia about surrogacy, both international and domestic. I have also advised clients who have lived overseas. I have helped clients at last count from 25 countries overseas abut surrogacy issues, including clients living in Canada.

The issues covered will be the practical ones of how surrogacy occurs in Canada, including how to find a surrogate, IVF, and also the practical issues in Australia such as whether to create the embryos here and ship over, costs, how long the process takes, citizenship issues, an outline of the process and passports. We also cover the issue of whether or not it is a good idea to apply to the Family Court for a parentage declaration.
